Good news on the mortgage front
Would-be home buyers, or people looking to remortgage can breathe a (slight) sigh of relief this week, as 3 main lenders have lowered their rates.
Abbey National has reduced it's rates on mortgages, after Nationwide - the biggest Building Society in Britain - did so earlier in the week.
The best result we've heard though, is that HSBC are now offering some mortgages from a terrific 4.55%!
Meanwhile experts from various sources seem to be agreeing the 'credit crunch' is nearing it's end... just a 2 or 3 more hard months and then things will be back as they should be. Let's hope they're right and we'll all be smiling.
So if you're looking to take out a mortgage, wait until September/October - and if you're about to remortgage to a fixed rate, stick to a variable if you can until rates stablise later in the year.
