Couples can now tie the knot 380ft up the Blackpool Tower after the historic British landmark recently got granted a wedding license.
Several blessings have taken place over the years at the top of the Tower, but actual ceremonies have only been carried out in the ballroom.
Geoff Sage, Tower General Manager comments: "It is great for the Tower and the resort that we have been granted the license for Tower Top weddings and we can't wait to host the first ever legal ceremony. It is going to be a hugely momentous occasion and will be an honour for everyone here in the Tower team to be involved in making history."
The first wedding to take place at the top of the Tower will be that of Rock FM’s breakfast show co-host Gemma Dee and her fiance Shaun. Adam Cattrall, Gemma's co-host, arranged the service as a surprise and announced it live on air!
The building also houses a play area, a private cinema, an award winning circus and the most magnificent Ballroom in the country. Now that's certainly somewhere special to hold your wedding!
